Mansfield,
a large historic market town, lies on the
River Maun. Local attractions include the
ruins of Newstead Abbey, the ancestral home
of Lord Byron, where there are several nature
reserves, beautiful gardens and parklands,
and 5 miles to the east, lie Clipstone Village
and Sherwood Pines Forest Park the largest
woodland area in the East Midlands. Within
a mile south west lies the town of Sutton-in-Ashfield
and Kirkby-in-Ashfield beyond. To the south
east of Mansfield along the A617 is situated
the town of Rainworth. So much to see !
