Gliding peacefully across beautiful countryside
early on a summer morning, or in the evening
is an unforgettable experience. Unlike other
aircraft, you can watch the hot air balloon
being assembled before your eyes - just
like a giant tent ! Then climb aboard and
admire the view from the basket - no doors
closed, or windows to sit behind, it's all
out in the fresh air. Fantastic !
The
village of Gringley-on-the-Hill is situated
on the A6311 within a few miles west of
Beckingham. It is located on a 250ft hill
providing excellent views across the surrounding
fields and the countryside beyond. There
is a prehistoric fort on Beacon hill and
within 6 miles to the east stands the medieval
building of Gainsborough Hall in Lincolnshire.
To the immediate north lies the village
of Walkeringham, with Misterton and the
River Idle beyond. This attractive village
has many red-bricked homes farmhouses and
their related buildings. Wonderful place
for Hot Air Ballooning !
