Thrapston,
Northamptonshire
Flying
over the countryside in a hot air balloon
is an unforgettable experience. It is the
most romantic form of flight, and a fantastic
new perspective of the world below !
Thrapston
is a small market town close to the River
Nene at the junction of the A14 and the
A45. It seems possible that it was the site
of a minor Roman settlement with remains
of Roman buildings having been found at
nearby Ringstead, four miles to the south
west. It is also recorded that Thrapston
was once home to George Washington’s grandfather.
It is conveniently located for access to
the more extensive amenities in the larger
town of nearby Kettering, approximately
seven miles away. Thrapston has its own
camping and caravanning site and is situated
within walking distance of the Cambridgeshire
county border. To get another perspective
though, take a hot air balloon flight over
this attractive area. Balloon rides are
fun !
Passengers can choose
the location of their flight after purchasing
a voucher accepted for flights all over
the UK. Prices depend on number of passengers
- more passengers cost less per person.
