tiny little rural village of Maidford is
situated in a rural area approximately six
miles south of Daventry. Until the early
years of the twentieth century if flourished
as a centre of lace making. Its most notorious
inhabitant was the pirate Thomas Tew who
is thought to have been born there in the
early years of the seventeenth century.
Maidford is within easy reach of the Old
Dairy Farm Craft Centre, Canons Ashby House,
and the nearby Catanger Llama Trekking Centre.
