Wallasey,
Merseyside
Merseyside
is a densely populated coastal county, lots
of people, spirit, humour, lots to see -
from land and air.
Wallasey
is the area of the Wirral just north of
Birkenhead.
Wallasey is located at the end of the M53
motorway, which runs into the Mersey Tunnel
(Toll) for 24 hour access to the City of
Liverpool on the other side of the river.
As far as transport is concerned, Wallasey
is in the centre of Merseyside and well-connected
via the M53 M-way, the Mersey Tunnel, Merseyrail
(which connects with the West Coast Mainline
Services at Liverpool's Lime Street Railway
Station), and shipping into the docks at
Birkenhead (incl. passenger services to
Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the Isle
of Man).
Other places in the area immediately around
Wallasey include Seacombe, Egremont, Liscard,
New Brighton,
Leasowe, Moreton, Bidston, Poulton, and
Claughton. All of these places benefit from
the local tourist attractions including
the Maritime Museum, Historic Warships,
the New Palace amusements at New Brighton,
and the beautiful sandy beach that stretches
across the north coast of the Wirral peninsular
("Mockbeggar Wharf"). This area is also
well-provided with golf courses and Country
Parks.
