Hoylake,
Merseyside
Merseyside
is a densely populated coastal county, lots
of people, spirit, humour, lots to see -
from land and air.
Hoylake
is a popular destination for days out at
the seaside during the warm summer months.
It is located on the north-east tip of the
Wirral peninsular, just a few miles north
of its close neighbour West Kirby. The major
attraction for both Hoylake and West Kirby
is the long sweeping beach that extends
from Thurtaston (south of West Kirby) across
the north coast of the Wirral to New Brighton
(just across the River Mersey from Bootle).
This stretch of coast along the north side
of the Wirral is known as "Mockbeggar Wharf".
Visitor facilities in this area include
caravan facilities, camping sites, many
golf courses, shops and cafes. This area
is served by the Merseyrail train network,
with regular (often at 15 minute intervals)
trains from the stations in Liverpool city
centre.
Residents of Hoylake may need to drive away
from this exposed coastal area to enjoy
a hot air balloon flight with a safe solid
landing. That should not be a problem as
the beautiful Cheshire and North-Wales countryside
is close-by.
