Skelmersdale, Lancashire

Skelmersdale is located along the M58 which connects the Liverpool area with the M6 motorway. Along the A577 to the east of Skelmersdale is Hall Green and the small town of Up Holland, which is a short distance from Deanwood Golf Course and St Joseph’s College.

Modern Skelmersdale is a mixture of the old (village) and new.

Many homes new schools and businesses have emerged around the Tawd Valley Park. The huge area of Beacon Park and Beacon Park Golf Course stretches from the north of the town and down the east side of Stannanought Road opposite The covered reservoir and Forsters Green. South of the golf course (above Windmill Road) is another covered reservoir, Garnett Lees Playing Fields, and Chequer Lane Playing Fields.
