Tewkesbury,
Gloucestershire
Gliding peacefully across beautiful countryside
early on a summer morning, or in the evening
is an unforgettable experience. Unlike other
aircraft, you can watch the hot air balloon
being assembled before your eyes - just
like a giant tent ! Then climb aboard and
admire the view from the basket - no doors
closed, or windows to sit behind, it's all
out in the fresh air. Fantastic !
The
historical town of Tewkesbury lies close
to the meeting of the Rivers Severn and
Avon but mainly along the eastern banks
of the River Avon whose tributaries border
the town and divide it from Newtown and
Walton Cardiff. Having already successfully
maintained its abbey buildings, medieval
character, timber-framed buildings and many
sites of historical interest it is increasingly
known as a conservation area. The A38 passes
through the town from junction 1 of the
M50 to Gloucester in the south. Access from
the M5 motorway at junction 9 is within
2 miles to the east of the town centre.
There are several camping, golf courses
and caravan sites to the north and south
of this attractive area.
Passengers can choose
the location of their flight after purchasing
