Berkeley,
Gloucestershire
Gliding peacefully across beautiful countryside
early on a summer morning, or in the evening
is an unforgettable experience. Unlike other
aircraft, you can watch the hot air balloon
being assembled before your eyes - just
like a giant tent ! Then climb aboard and
admire the view from the basket - no doors
closed, or windows to sit behind, it's all
out in the fresh air. Fantastic !
The
Gloucestershire town of Berkeley is located
5 miles west of Dursley and 18 miles south-west
of Gloucester. It is situated between the
M5 motorway and the south bank of the River
Severn. The town stands on a small hill
in the Vale of Berkeley with Berkeley Castle
located to the south west quite close to
the Jenner Museum (originator of vaccinations).
A camping site is situated to the west of
the M5 motorway and east of the A38 close
to the Michael Wood Services. Beyond Berkeley,
along the B4066 is the inland port of Sharpness
and Newtown.
