picturesque and historic market town of
Lewes is a few minutes train journey from
Brighton, which
can also easily be reached by car along
the A27. The smaller surrounding areas include
Hamsey, Offham and Wallands Park. Lewes
is home to the Lewes Norman Castle, displaying
a stunning view of the Sussex Downs, and
Barbican House Museum – originally
the house that Henry VIII gave as a gift
to Anne Cleves. The town is located on a
spur of the River Ouse and offers a variety
of one-off shops and places to eat.
