Hailsham is situated roughly 3 miles almost directly north of Polegate, which is reached by travelling along the A27 and A295. A direct journey for roughly 9 miles along the A22 northwest will lead to Uckfield. It is a worthwhile travel, approximately 3 to 4 miles east along the A271 to the 15th Century Herstmonceux Castle. Another attraction is the Michelham Priory and Gardens, a historic house, situated in Upper Dicker which is roughly 2 miles west of Hailsham.
