If you're lucky enough to live in this beautiful
area, then how about seeing it from a different
perspective ?
The
town of Sidmouth is located north east of
Budleigh Salterton and south of Honiton.
It is reached from the A3052 at Bowd (B3176),
or Sidford (A375), or by foot along the
South West Coastal Path from Beer to the
east or Budleigh Salterton to the west.
It has been the home of several members
of the royal family and has many buildings
of special architectural and historical
interest. Fine examples of Regency architecture
(Fortfield Terrace), and gothic windowed
villas to the thatched residences at the
foot of Peak hill, are typical of this town.
The town occupies the valley of the River
Sid between the slopes of Peak Hill and
Salcombe Hill and extends northwards to
Sidford.
