The
coastal town of Seaton lies to the south
west of Lyme Regis (Dorset), south east
of Honiton, and east of Sidmouth. It is
situated in east Devon at the mouth of the
River Yarty and has an extensive stretch
of sandy beach from the west of the town
to Charlton Bay. The town extends north
to the A3052 near Colyford and eastwards
to the western banks of the river. To the
northeast, near the river is based the Seaton
Electric Tramway Company which provides
a tram-line link with Colyton to the north
of the A3052.
