The popular seaside town of Paignton lies to the east of Totnes between Torquay and Brixham along the coastline of Tor Bay. The town has some long sandy beaches, and The Green which reaches out to the bay. The Great Western Steam Railway provides interesting journeys between Paignton and Dartmouth.
Paignton is accessed from the A38 along the A385 or A380 as well as along the A3022 from Torquay. To the south west of the town lie the Zoological and Botanical Gardens with many camping and caravan parks in the area towards Goodrington.
