large town of Newton Abbot is located to
the north east of Torquay and south west
of Exeter. It is reached to the west from
the A38 (Exeter / Plymouth) and A380 (Kingsteignton
/ Torquay) to the east. It is situated close
to the estuary of the River Teign and the
River Bovey to the north. The Newton Abbot
Racecourse lies to the north east of the
town and south of Kingsteignton. To the
south, close to East Ogwell, is the Prickly
Ball Hedgehog Hospital and many villages
in a large area of open countryside.
