village of Lynmouth is situated on the north
Devon Heritage coastline at the mouth of
the River Lyn. The oldest part of the village
consists mainly of colour washed cottages
and attractive gardens and is situated around
Mars Hill.
Lynmouth is close to the northern edge of
Exmoor and the meeting of the Rivers West
Lyn and East Lyn. It is reached across the
gorge from Lynton via the water-operated
funicular Lynton & Lynmouth cliff railway.
