If you're lucky enough to live in this beautiful
area, then how about seeing it from a different
perspective ?
The
Dartmoor village of Lydford is situated
within the Dartmoor National Park close
to the A386 in West Devon. It is 12 km south
west of Okehampton, 9km north of Tavistock,
and due east of Lauceston. To the south
of the village lies the deep tree lined
ravine of Lydford Gorge. From the (‘Devil’s
Cauldron’) below the stone-bridge, the River
Lyd flows 1.5 miles (2.5km) through the
gorge to the 30m ‘White Lady Waterfall.’
The Lydford Church, positioned high above
the gorge and the remains of two remaining
castles provide commanding views across
Dartmoor and the surrounding countryside.
