The
Devonshire town of Ivybridge is situated
to the south of Cornwood and Harford, and
close to the fringe of Dartmoor National
Park. It is approximately 7 miles from Plymouth
and conveniently reached by road along the
A38 to the south of the town and by rail
along the Totness to Plymouth line. The
River Erme flows from the heights of Dartmoor
through Ivybridge before reaching the sea
at Mothecombe. The Dartmoor Wild Life and
Falconry Centre lies to the north west of
Ivybridge at Sparkwell. The rural villages
of Westlake and Ermington and are located
south of Ivybridge close to the River Erme
as it journeys through farmland to Holbeton
about 4 miles from the sea.
