River Taw is reached along the A39 (Bideford),

close to Landby and Swimbridge (on the A361).
The local rail station is located across
the river whilst the Pannier Market and
Museum of North Devon Life are situated
within the town. A few miles to the north
of Barnstaple lie Marwood Hill Gardens.
